We’re launching a celebration of love, chaos, comedy, and Coronation Street brilliance by spotlighting the dynamic duo we never knew we needed but now can’t live without: Carla and Lisa. With the added bonus of their family, of course, Betsy and Ryan.
Let’s be honest, if drama were a sport, these two would have gold medals, endorsement deals, and their own Netflix docuseries by now. Whether they’re cuddled up on the couch, sharing a glass of wine (or orange juice in more in recent times) in the Rovers, or trauma-bonding over kidney transplants, colleagues being killed, or back-to-back emotional breakdowns, Carla and Lisa have truly owned our screens, and our hearts, all year long.
So, we’re rolling out the virtual red carpet (with glitter, sequins, and probably a few tissues) for a celebration like no other: The Don’t Get Dressed Awards.
But this isn’t just our awards – it’s yours, too. We’re handing the mic to everyone to nominate the standout scenes, unforgettable lines, and ‘wait, WHAT?!’ moments that meant the most to you. The heartstring-tuggers, the jaw-droppers, the ones that made you spit out your drink. We want them all.
Because this isn’t just a storyline. It’s soap history that’s made us laugh, cry, scream at our screens, and emotionally spiral (most days) in the group chat. Carla and Lisa are truly leaving their mark, and this is your chance to show just how deep that impact goes. So dust off those screenshots, rewatch your favourite bits, and get ready to give these two the celebration they deserve.

🎢 Best Storyline – For the arc that took us on a ride with more twists than a Barlow family tree.
🤣 Best Comedy Moment – Pure gold in the giggle department. If you laughed so hard you snorted tea during the 7am watch, this one’s for you.
📺 Best Episode – The one that had us glued to the screen, rewinding, and probably yelling at the telly.
👠 Carla Scene of the Year – Because Carla doesn’t enter a scene, she owns it.
👮♀️ Lisa Scene of the Year – Whether it’s a witty comeback, or having a good cry, or running head first towards danger, Lisa brings the magic.
🌟 Betsy Scene of the Year – Small but mighty, Betsy’s getting her flowers for stealing every scene she’s in.
💬 Best One-Liner – Because sometimes, one sarcastic line is all it takes to win the whole episode.
🤯 WTF? Moment – Reserved for the scene that made you sit bolt upright and ask, ‘Have I fallen into a parallel universe?’
🥹 Best Aww Moment – For the moment that squeezed our hearts and maybe made us cry a little. Okay, a lot.
That’s not all, there will be plenty more categories for you to get your teeth stuck in to… so get ready for the most iconic awards of the Swarla calendar. No filters, no rules, and absolutely no dress code. This is the Don’t Get Dressed Awards – where Carla and Lisa are about to sweep up.
Here’s a rundown of what you can expect:
22nd August: Nominations open
12th September: Nominations close
Nominations for all categories will open on on 22nd August 2025, and close on 12th September 2025. Giving you plenty of time to nominate your favourite moments in each category.
19th September: Shortlist announced
On 19th September, the shortlist will be announced, and we’ll see which scenes and storylines you were most passionate about.
26th September: Voting opens
10th October: Voting closes
We’ll then open voting on 26th September, and give you a few weeks to vote for your winners before closing it on 10th October.
22nd November: Winners announced
Some work will then happen behind the scenes (imagine a hamster running really fast on a wheel, that will be me), before the winners are announced on the most iconic date in Swarla history, 22nd November 2025, to mark the one year anniversary of the best line Carla Connor has ever spoken, ‘Don’t get dressed.’
