Swarla shortlisted for Best Partnership at the British Soap Awards 2025

The British Soap awards are taking place on 31st May 2025, in London, and Swarla have been shortlisted for Best Partnership.

The British Soap Awards, established in 1999, annually celebrate excellence in UK soap operas like Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks. Originally hosted by Phillip Schofield, the event has become a prestigious fixture known for red carpet glamour and wide public and media attention. Beyond entertainment, the awards highlight socially important storylines – such as mental health, domestic abuse, and discrimination – showcasing soaps’ role in reflecting societal issues. The ceremony also honours long-term contributions through lifetime achievement awards, combining public involvement and industry recognition to celebrate the genre’s cultural significance and enduring popularity.

Now, not all awards are decided by fans binge-watching in their dressing gowns. Some categories are voted for by the public, like Best Soap and Best Leading Performer, letting die-hard viewers wield their democratic power like a remote control of justice. Meanwhile, other categories are judged by a panel of industry professionals. These include Best Scene, Best Storyline, and technical achievements.

Best Partnership is one category that will be decided by the panel of judges, and we really hope to see Vicky Myers and Alison King take home the award.

This year’s ceremony is taking place on May 31st at the Hackney Empire theatre in London.
