Alison King up for ‘Best Leading Performer’ at the 2025 British Soap Awards

After a years hiatus, the British Soap Awards are back, and our favourite brunette is up for an award!

Coronation Street’s Alison King, who has played Carla Connor on the soap since 2006, has been nominated for Best Leading Performer in the 2025 British Soap Awards.

The past year has seen her character go through a break-up, theft of just shy of a quarter of a million pounds, her father figure being arrested for murder, a divorce, blackmail, an ABH charge, and an assault resulting in a bleed on the brain, sepsis and the need for a kidney transplant. Jeez, it’s been a year for our Carla. Oh, and there might have been a tiny little storyline that focused on her growing friendship, turned relationship, with one Detective Sergeant Lisa Swain.

She’s had a dramatic year for sure, and Ali has, as always, smashed every single storyline with her incredible talent.

The Best Leading Performer award is voted for by the public, click the button below to cast your vote. You can also vote for Coronation Street for ‘Best British Soap’.

Winners will be announced on 31st May 2025 at a live awards ceremony at the Hackney Empire in London. The awards will likely be broadcast on television some time in June.
