In yesterdays episode saw Betsy have a panic attack, and Lisa mad at Carla for all of 30 seconds. Who can blame her? One cuddle from Carla Connor and I’d immediately forget anything I had ever been angry about. Ever.

Tuesday’s episode opened with what I can only describe as flirty Lisa. The pair discussed how Betsy’s anxiety about leaving the flat wasn’t improving, Lisa’s guilt about leaving her daughter on her own again. Carla reminded Lisa that if she didn’t go into work her boss wouldn’t be happy, and a very smiley Lisa teased her girlfriend about how she can do what she likes as she’s the queen of everything at the factory.

Side note: find someone who looks at you the way Lisa Swain looks at her girlfriend while she’s buttering toast.

Betsy overheard them worrying about her, and put on a brave face when she came out of her bedroom, saying she was trying to get a grip and not let him stop her getting on with her life.

Carla recommended her a calming app that Ryan used to listen to, and both ladies left for work, Carla giving Betsy a kiss on the head. I feel the little touches like this are something Coronation Street are putting in on purpose. Back in summer 2024, Betsy made a comment that her other mum did all the touchy feely stuff, and whilst Lisa has come on leaps and bounds in terms of physical affection with her daughter, it’s Carla who’s the one kissing her goodbye in the mornings.

We then saw Carla in the cafe talking to Tracy, asking her if she’d seen or heard from Rob. Nina paid Betsy a visit and encouraged her to leave the flat, and Carla dropped Roy to a hospital appointment.

While in the hospital car park, Carla spotted Mandy, Rob’s pregnant ex-screw girlfriend. She called Lisa to alert her of the situation, Roy offered to affect a citizens arrest, and Lisa headed over to the hospital.

The three stooges sat and waited in the car for Mandy to reappear from the hospital, assuming she had gone into the maternity unit for a checkup on her baby. Once Roy had left, Mandy appeared, and Lisa was keen to arrest her then and there.

Carla was against bringing her in for questioning, insisting that she could lead them to Rob if they followed her instead.

Meanwhile, Nina’s words to Betsy clearly resonated as we saw them sharing a drink in The Rovers, and Glenda offering advice on creepy men.

Back at the hospital, we saw Mandy being put into a police car, which meant Lisa had done things by the book, much to Carla’s disappointment. Lisa reassured her girlfriend that she’s good at her job, and if Mandy knew where Rob was, she would get the information out of her.

In the interview room, Mandy refused to divulge any information until Lisa played on the fact she’s pregnant and asked questions about the baby. She dropped a huge piece of her backstory when she told Mandy that it was her late wife, Becky, who carried Betsy. Mandy softened eventually, and revealed Rob had access to her flat and had taken her gun!

Not long to wait for our next recap, as we have another episode tomorrow! Great that we’ve got three episodes on the bounce this week, but it means we’ve got to wait longer for hostage week to unfold on the cobbles.
