Last week’s epiosdes saw Betsy chased by escaped convict Rob Donovan, Carla asked to identify a body, and Lisa appearing out of literal thin air at the morgue. Sounds like a horror film! But we also had some wonderful soft scenes between Carla and Lisa.
As this week’s storyline got underway, we saw Lisa explain to Carla that Betsy was scared to leave the flat after Rob chased her through the precinct the previous week.

After realising how much it was affecting Betsy, Carla offered to work from home for the day to keep the teenager company. Lisa was grateful, but reminded Carla that her daughter had been traumatised after everything she’d been through recently.
Not entirely sure what they were watching, but knowing Betsy’s taste probably Married at First Sight. Carla had a frank discussion with the teen, and told her she shouldn’t be hiding herself away, she should be out at college, work, and enjoying herself.

Four episodes in to whatever show they were binging, Carla’s phone buzzed and she was alerted to an emergency at the factory. Betsy assured her she would be fine on her own, so Carla left her to it.
Not long after Carla had left, the buzzer to the flat rang, prompting Betsy to have a panic attack and call Lisa. Credit to Sydney Martin for acting the hell out of this scene, she was incredible!

Lisa arrived home to find Betsy in a state on the floor. It turned out that the buzzer had been a delivery driver, who left a card to say he hadn’t managed to deliver their parcel. Betsy told Lisa that Carla had left to deal with an emergency at work, which prompted Lisa to dig further into how long she’d been gone for.

Once Carla eventually returned home, Lisa was visibly annoyed, making sarcastic comments about how if the factory emergency wasn’t worth talking about, was there really any need for her to have gone? Lisa quickly revealed she was disappointed Carla had left Betsy on her own, but Carla reminded her that she wasn’t the only one with a full time job.
One cuddle from her girlfriend and Lisa Swain folded like a deck chair. Carla helped Lisa to realise that Betsy has to find peace of mind for herself, it’s not something they can give her. She has a way of being frank and straight to the point on so many things, and I think Lisa appreciates her honesty.
Our next recap is tomorrow, as the football on ITV this week is affecting the schedule, we have episodes Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
