Friday the 13th may be unlucky for some, but it sure wasn’t for those of you itching to find out when Carla and Lisa‘s house move storyline was going to get underway!
We first saw Carla and Lisa at the flat, with Lisa looking at houses on her laptop.

They discussed areas they would like to move to, before Carla commented that Lisa seemed brighter after the difficult events of the previous day, where she had to speak at Craig’s memorial service.
Lisa quickly shut her laptop as Betsy appeared, a house move clearly something they hadn’t mentioned to her yet.
When Lisa suggested going for lunch together, Betsy blew her off saying she was going to meet Dylan, which prompted her mum and Carla to tease her. ‘Dylan and Betsy sitting in a tree…’, classic parent behaviour right there.

We then found out that Betsy had lied about her whereabouts, and she had gone to the prison with Lauren to see Logan Radcliffe. Betsy was visibly nervous about going to meet Logan, one of the young lads involved in her mum’s death, and also the person responsible for killing her boyfriend Mason, as well as hitting Carla over the head in the factory break in back in November last year.
At The Rovers, Lisa shared her suspicions with Carla about Betsy and Dylan being more than friends, and when Steve overheard the conversation, he couldn’t help but interrupt to tell them he thought Betsy was telling lies. He revealed her and Lauren had ordered a cab to the prison, leaving Lisa wondering who she had gone to see.

Logan arrived in the visiting room to meet Betsy and Lauren, and was asked for information about the night Becky died. He tried to blackmail Betsy, who agreed to give him money from her trust fund, before admitting he didn’t know anything. Betsy and Lauren walked out, but not before the young Swain gave him a piece of her mind.

Back at the flat, Lisa was nervously awaiting her daughter’s return. When Betsy arrived back, she told the couple where she’d been, and that she was trying to find out more about her mum’s movements before she died. After finding the Anti Corruption Unit letter the day before, she felt she needed to find out who her mum really was, as Lisa had clearly been keeping things from her.
Lisa reassured her daughter that she only did it to protect her from going through what she herself had gone through three and a half years ago.

A little while later, Cara encouraged Lisa to speak to Betsy and clear the air. Lisa told Betsy that the corruption charges were dropped, and that there would be no secrets going forward. Carla interrupted from her position peeling carrots in the kitchen, prompting Lisa to reveal there was something they needed to tell the teenager.
Betsy was clearly dubious about more secrets, but Lisa encouraged Carla to join them and be the one to break the news that they were looking to buy a house together, if that was ‘cool’ with her.

Lisa jumped in to see if her daughter had any reservations, but an excited Betsy quickly reassured the couple that she thought it was a great idea. Judging by the reaction on Carla’s face, I don’t think she was expecting such a positive response. Just seven months ago, she didn’t want Carla in her mum’s life, let alone hers. What a turn around!
As Carla welcomed Betsy to look at houses with her online, Lisa went to check on the roast chicken dinner, and that final look she gives toward the pair of them… well, it’s safe to say that she’s looking at the best possible future she could imagine.
